• WHAT IS CAREER AND COLLEGE PROMISE?

Career & College Promise (CCP) is North Carolina’s dual enrollment program for high school students. This program allows eligible NC high school students to enroll in tuition-free college classes at North Carolina community colleges while still in high school. (While the tuition cost for classes is waived, students are still responsible for the cost of any books or materials associated with their courses.) Students who successfully complete these college courses earn college credit they can take with them after graduation in many cases. (Please note that not all colleges may accept these courses for transfer credit and students should research any college of interest’s process for transferring credits. See FAQ section below). Please use this link to determine eligibility.

CCP offers students the option to choose from these pathways:

College Transfer - Designed for students planning to continue their educational career beyond high school to eventually achieve an Associate's or Bachelor's degree at a community college or university. -Use this link to decide which pathway best fits your college/career plans. (Click the dropdown arrow under Wake Tech Degrees to learn more about each pathway)

Career & Technical Education - Allows students to begin a certification or diploma program in a particular technical field or career area.

*Students can take up to two pathways, but if they do, one must be a Career and Technical Education pathway.

CCP offers North Carolina high school students options to pursue educational and career goals of their choice using a rigorous yet supportive structure designed to help them become successful.

We recommend starting this program in the Summer after sophomore year or the Fall of junior year. This provides 7 semesters to participate (Fall, Spring, and Summer).
