Update regarding bus rider dismissal delay
2:20 p.m.
Lufkin Road Middle families,
All students are safe. Carpool and student reunification procedures are continuing. Bus rider dismissal is being delayed due to the amount of student pickups our staff members are facilitating via the carpool lane and the need for the buses that are on campus to begin their high school routes. As a result, buses will return to campus at 3 p.m. to pick up remaining bus riders.
Parents who would like to pick up their students may still do so and should bring identification. Staff will remain with students inside the building until bus rider dismissal is complete.
Thank you again for your understanding and patience. We will share additional information regarding today’s event later this afternoon.

Early dismissal due to threat, follow carpool procedures to pick up students
11:21 a.m. update
Lufkin Road Middle families,
First, please know that all students are safe.
I would like to make you aware of an incident that is impacting our school today. This morning, we received a bomb threat to our school via phone call. We immediately contacted WCPSS Security and law enforcement, and evacuated students and staff to our football field.
Law enforcement is currently searching our campus and is estimating the search will take at least two hours. Parents who wish to pick up their students should bring their identification and follow carpool procedures. We will dismiss bus riders as soon as car pool procedures conclude.
We will provide additional information as soon as it is available.
