Spring Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) Testing

Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) allows a student to be considered for placement in a higher grade level in math or English Language Arts to ensure appropriately challenging learning opportunities. Parents of students in grades K–7 may request SSA testing in either subject.

The SSA test request window is open from January 5–23 (please note this window opened earlier than in previous years). Testing will still take place in the spring.

If you would like to pursue SSA testing for your child, please complete the WCPSS SSA Test Request Form, which is available only during the January 5–23 window. For questions, contact Jill Molloy at jmolloy@wcpss.net.

5th Grade Families:Important Magnet Application Reminder

Families of current 5th grade students, especially those with magnet status, are reminded that students must submit a magnet application to continue in a magnet program at the next grade level. Applications are submitted through wcpss.schoolmint.com, and the deadline is January 22.

Magnet application results will be available on February 19.

Students who currently have magnet status receive Priority 2 when applying to their assigned pathway magnet school and are typically selected for that school. Students may also apply to other magnet schools, where they will have Priority 3, though selection is not guaranteed.

Students who are base or transfer students receive Priority 4 when applying to their pathway magnet school, and placement is not guaranteed.

Families can find their assigned pathway school at wcpss.net/pathways.

Parent Session

In the new year, we would like to offer a series of virtual and in-person parent sessions designed to keep families informed and connected. These sessions will provide opportunities to hear directly from school leadership and staff around topics that matter most to our school community. To help us prepare and plan for these sessions, please take a moment to complete the Parent Session Form linked above. We value your voice and look forward to partnering with you.

Support Our Spring Fundraiser Through Sponsorship

We’re preparing for another year of Raise Craze, Wiley PTA’s annual Spring fundraiser, and invite our Wiley community to get involved through corporate sponsorships. If you own or have a connection to a local business or organization, please consider sharing this opportunity.

Sponsorships help ensure that every Wiley student, teacher and staff member receives a Raise Craze t-shirt. In return, sponsors receive logo placement on the back of the shirts, providing year-long visibility within our school community.

Click here to view sponsorship tiers and become a sponsor. Thank you for your continued support of Wiley PTA!

Grounds Volunteers Needed
Calling All High Schoolers: Help Wiley and Earn Service Hours

Do you have a high schooler or know one in need of service hours? Wiley PTA is launching a Junior Sustainability Committee this spring! We’re inviting high school students to help with grounds work at Wiley every weekend in April and early May, with two-hour volunteer shifts available. It’s a great way for older students to give back to their elementary roots—plus it helps keep our campus looking beautiful for our Wiley students!
