Spring Break is March 28 - Monday, April 6
As we head into Spring Break, we wish all of our Wiley families a safe, restful, and enjoyable time together! It’s hard to believe how quickly the school year is moving—when we return, we will begin our final quarter of the 2025–2026 school year. Students will return to school on Tuesday, April 7.
Spring Break is a wonderful opportunity for students to rest, relax, and recharge, letting go of school-related stress and coming back refreshed and ready to learn. When we return, students will have one final quarter to continue building the skills needed to meet promotion requirements and prepare for success in the next grade level.
We look forward to finishing the year strong together!
Science Night on 5/19:
We are excited to announce Wiley's 2nd Annual Science Night! It will be held for families on May 19th from 5:30 - 7:00 pm. Huge thanks to the Wiley PTA for making this event possible!
In order for Science Night to be a success, we will need volunteers to help run ten different activities on campus. Volunteers will sign up for one activity and lead students through that activity over the course of the evening. All supplies and instructions will be provided. Please note that volunteers will need to be at Wiley from 5:00 - 7:15 pm on the evening of the event to set up and clean up their activity. If interested in volunteering, please use this link to sign up.
If you have any questions, please contact Hadley Cairns-Heath at hcairns-heath@wcpss.net. Thank you!
Promotion Letters and Retention
Each grade level participated in Promotion Meetings with administration to discuss students who are performing below expectations. Students not performing as expected will receive letters by mail during the upcoming week.
During Promotion meetings, the team carefully reviewed relevant data to determine whether a letter would be sent home for students with academic or attendance concerns. Teachers were also encouraged to communicate with parents if letters would be sent home. This should not be the first time that concerns are communicated.
Please note that at this time decisions regarding retention have NOT been made regarding any student. Our primary goal is to partner with families to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed. Together, we will do everything we can to promote our students with confidence and a prepared to be successful in the next grade.
Wiley Testimonial and Shout Out
We need testimonials for our new website. If you are interested in providing a brief testimonial or shout about how much you love wiley and have your picture featured on our new website going Live in July, please complete the Shot out Form (linked above). Instead of teacher name type Wiley ES. If chosen I will reach out to you for a pic and your wonderful words and the photo of your choosing will be posted on our website for the world to see.

Fundraising Update: We’ve raised more than $18,000 but still have work to reach our $23,000 goal! Donations are still accepted after today, so there’s still time to help us get there.
No donation is too small. Every dollar gets us closer, and support from family and friends–grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins, neighbors–can make a huge difference in this final stretch.
Kindness Update: Our students are going above and beyond–by 200%! We’ve officially exceeded 4,500 Acts of Kindness (AOKs), surpassing our school-wide goal of 1,500!
On Wednesday, Mr. Q’s 4th grade class earned the Traveling Trophy for the most AOKs! Who will take the lead tomorrow? The class with the most AOKs will win a “Picnic with the Principal.”
Winners will be announced at Raise Craze Celebration Day and featured in our next Weekly Newsletter!
Let’s match our student’s incredible kindness with strong fundraising. We can do this! Make a donation here!

Grounds Volunteers Needed
Calling All High Schoolers: Help Wiley and Earn Service Hours
Do you have a high schooler or know one in need of service hours? Wiley PTA is launching a Junior Sustainability Committee this spring! We’re inviting high school students to help with grounds work at Wiley every weekend in April and early May, with two-hour volunteer shifts available. It’s a great way for older students to give back to their elementary roots—plus it helps keep our campus looking beautiful for our Wiley students!
Know a teen who may be interested? Share this opportunity and sign up here.
Lost and Found Donation
Be sure to check the latest items in Lost and Found. Students can look during lunch, and parents are welcome to stop by during school hours. And remember, labeled items are never donated.
