Principal's Weekly Message - 11/23/25

Happy Sunday, Pride Families,

Kudos to the LRHS Symphonic Band and Dance Team for their participation in the annual Raleigh Christmas Parade. Fantastic job!

Reminder: There will be no school for staff and students from Wednesday, November 26, to Friday, November 28. We wish our families a Happy Thanksgiving.

Changes to the fall exam schedule

Due to recent policy changes regarding EOCs, we need to adjust the exam schedule for this year.  Biology EOCs will be administered on the EOC day (first day of the 5-day exam window) instead of during the period-based exams. Fall semester EOCs, English 2, Math 1, Math 3, Biology, will be administered on Friday, Jan. 16. (Updated) If this change causes an issue for your child in January, please email Ms. Arwood, Testing Coordinator, at karwood@wcpss.net. An overview of the exam week schedule and exam exemption policies is posted on the LRHS website.

Opting to take a final exam after earning an exam exemption

Updated (11/23/25)-Students who meet the exemption criteria and have the potential to increase their overall letter grade may opt to take the final exam. In this case, the exam will count for 20% of the course grade only if the overall grade improves.
