This week, May 4–8, we proudly celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week 2026 and recognize the incredible educators who make a difference in our students' lives every day. Our teachers go far beyond delivering instruction—they build relationships, inspire confidence, support growth, and help create the strong sense of community that defines the LRHS PRIDE. Please join me in thanking our teachers for their dedication, compassion, and commitment to excellence. Teacher Appreciation Week: Say Thanks with a Gift Donation!

Teacher and Staff Appreciation Week is next week. In addition to the daily treats planned for the week, the PTSA is collecting monetary donations to provide gift cards for the entire staff. This includes not only teachers, but also specialists, administrators, office staff, and counselors. If you are able, please consider making a donation through GiftCrowd.  Donations will be collected through Monday, May 11, at 6:00 a.m. Please note: It is recommended that you do not select Notifications unless you wish to receive an email each time a staff member receives and opens their gift. There are over 150 staff members. Thank you for helping us show our appreciation.

 

AP Exams start on Monday, May 4. 

Detailed information can be found HERE. It is very important that students bring their fully charged, school-issued Chromebook for testing. Students should also be sure they know how to access their College Board Account.  They need to know their username and password that they created.  School staff does not have access to this information.  If students do not know this information, their testing will be delayed, and the student will have to contact the College Board Helpline, which will be very backlogged once testing starts.  Email any questions to egreene@wcpss.net or karwood@wcpss.net

 

Leesville Road High School's Spring Semester Final Exam Schedule:

Exams will take place from June 5 to June 11, 2026. You can find the final exam schedule here: bit.ly/LRHSspring26exams. The final exam counts for 20% of each student's final grade for all courses, including End-of-Course (EOC) exams, Career and Technical Education (CTE) assessments, and teacher-made exams. Students must take these exams on campus. A list of the exams is available in the final exam schedule.

We will have a modified schedule on June 5th, 8th, and 9th, and students will be dismissed at 12:45 p.m. On June 5, students will take the Biology, English II, Math I, and Math III EOCs, and Seniors will take their required exams. Students will take their CTE state assessments during their assigned class period.

If your student is taking an EOC or CTE exam, please make sure they bring their fully charged WCPSS laptop. Testing on personal devices is not allowed. Please contact your student's teacher directly with questions about teacher-made exams, exam exemptions, or attendance.

 

Panorama Family Survey (repeat)

Wake County Public School System is administering a District-Wide Family Survey through Friday, May 15. This survey provides families the opportunity to provide valuable information and a high-quality data source for planning and School Improvement. The survey has been translated into various languages: Spanish, Arabic, French, Korean, Vietnamese, and Chinese in an effort to provide accessibility to families in the Wake County Public School System. Families can choose the language of the survey administration before taking the survey. Additionally, a Read Aloud feature is available online. Survey Link: surveys.panoramaed.com/wakecounty/family
