Hello AFES Families-
It looks like we may be in for an interesting few days ahead, with the possibility of ice in the forecast. While we do not yet know how this may impact school next week, it is possible that there could be changes to the schedule if conditions are as severe as predicted.
Students have already received any remote learning materials they may need should WCPSS make the decision to move to remote learning. We also understand that power outages and/or limited access to internet or devices (especially for our PreK–2 students) may occur. Please know that we will be flexible and will support students and families as needed when we return to school.
At this time, no decisions have been made.
One reminder: students do not need power to READ!I This could be a great opportunity to curl up with a good book.
We are all hoping the forecast is wrong, and that if anything falls, it’s snow, but our top priority will always be the safety of our staff, students, and families. Any updates will be shared as soon as possible through TalkingPoints and email.
Stay warm, stay safe, and fingers crossed for snow!
Yours,
Tara Yunker, Principal
