Greetings Dolphin Families,
DRMS Exceeds Expected Growth: We are thrilled to share that Durant Road Middle School exceeded expected growth this past school year and has exited Low Performing status. Our growth on EOGs/EOCs surpassed both the State and WCPSS growth average. This incredible accomplishment is a testament to the hard work of our students, the dedication of our staff, and the unwavering support of our families. Way to go, Dolphins!
Picture Day: Fall Picture Day is on Tuesday, 9/09/25. All students and staff will be photographed for the school yearbook. Students brought home a flier last week. To pay online, go to www.strawbridge.net. Click Order Pictures and enter the following code: FM471397.
This link will allow families to sign up to receive email updates about their child's school portraits after picture day. These emails are sent to announce important things like when images are ready for viewing online, when novelty items are available for purchase and when new deals and promotions are being offered.
PTA Spirit Night: Support the PTA by grabbing dinner at Brixx Pizza (1540 Dunn Rd. Raleigh, NC 27614) on Tuesday, 9/09/25. You must present the flier for our PTA to receive a donation.

Instructional Assistant Appreciation Day: Friday, 9/12/25 we celebrate our amazing Instructional Assistants who make a huge difference every day at DRMS! Their hard work, patience, and care help our students succeed and our school shine. Thank you for all that you do — we appreciate you!

Girls on the Run - Heart & Sole Club: We are excited to launch a Heart & Sole Club after school for girls in 6th - 8th grade. Trained coaches host a program to inspire girls to value what makes them unique. Together, teams uncover confidence and understand the importance of physical and emotional health.
