9/21/25 Principal's Message - English
Greetings Dolphin Families,
We’ve officially reached the last week of Quarter 1, and what an incredible start it has been! Our students have been hard at work building strong foundations for learning, growing together as a school community, and showing resilience and determination each step of the way. This quarter has been filled with academic progress, exciting activities, and moments that highlight the very best of who we are as a school.
As we pause to celebrate our successes, we also look forward to the opportunities ahead in Quarter 2. New goals, fresh learning experiences, and continued partnership with our families. Thank you for your support in making this first quarter such a success!
PTA POWER-UP Fundraiser: We are off to a strong start! Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already raised $3,110 toward our $10,000 goal! But we’re not done yet. With the fundraiser ending this Friday, we need everyone’s support to help us power all the way to the finish line.
Here’s how you can help:
- Reach out to family members, friends, and even the businesses you support.
- Share the donation link on your personal social media outlets.
- Every donation, big or small, makes a difference for our students and school.
- If each student raised $17, we would hit our goal.
Incentives to keep us going:
- The top homeroom in each grade level will earn a pizza party.
- If we reach our $10,000 goal, the admin team will battle it out in a Mario Kart Tricycle Race.
I believe in the strength of our school community. Every donation, big or small, represents our shared commitment to making Durant Road Middle the best it can be. Together, we can give our students the opportunities, resources, and experiences they deserve. I’m asking you to join us in this final push. Spirit Week: We’re closing out Quarter 1 with school spirit and celebration! Join us each day as we show off our Dolphin pride:

- Tuesday - Twin Day/Tie Dye
- Wednesday - Hat Day
- Thursday - Teacher/Student Swap
- Friday - Dolphin Day
Students will be taking their first NC Check-In Assessments this week. These assessments help us understand learning progress and identify areas for growth. Please encourage your student to do their best and approach the tests with focus and confidence!
