Greetings Dolphin Families,

 

We had a great first week back, full of energy, smiles, and a renewed focus on learning. As we step into the final quarter of the school year, we are filled with excitement and determination. Quarter 4 is a time for students to showcase their growth, finish strong, and celebrate their achievements. We look forward to continuing to partner with you to support your child’s success, both academically and personally. Thank you for being an essential part of our school community — let’s make this last quarter the best one yet!

 

Panorama Family Survey: Help us make your child’s school experience as positive and beneficial as possible by giving honest, thoughtful responses to the questions in our family survey. We want to hear from you! Please access the survey here through May 16. 

 

Report Cards Go Home: Report cards will be sent home on Monday, 4/28/25. Please take time to review your child’s achievements and discuss their goals for the final stretch of the school year. If you have any questions or would like to schedule a conference, feel free to reach out to your child’s teacher. 

 

Board Advisory Council (BAC) District 3 Meeting: Monday, 4/28/25 at Wakefield Middle School. The meeting will begin promptly at 6 pm until 7 pm. The topic will be the proposed 2025-2026 Operating Budget.

DRMS LeaderSIP Meeting: Wednesday, 4/30/25 at 3:45 PM in the Media Center. 

PTA NEWS

Thank you for giving to our March Madness No-Fuss Fundraiser!! We are beyond grateful for the support and generosity shown these last two weeks!! Because of you, our fundraiser was able to raise $3,347 to support our school AND SLIME Dr. Brower at our next Pep Rally!! 

 

Congratulations to these top earning homerooms from each grade: 6th Ms. Paynter, 7th Ms. Porter, and 8th Ms. Sabb!! Be on the lookout for your pizza parties as we track back in. 🍕🏆

 

Staff Appreciation Week is coming up May 5th - May 9th. Our committee is working on some ways to express our thanks. If you're interested in volunteering to help that week please email them at DurantRoadMiddlePTA@gmail.com

Family STEM Night: Join us for an exciting Family STEM Night on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM! This hands-on event will feature interactive STEM activities, engaging experiments, and innovative showcases designed for the whole family to enjoy. Come explore the wonders of science, technology, engineering, and math in a fun and collaborative environment. Stay tuned for more details—we can’t wait to see you there!

 

EOG/EOC Tests: End-of-Grade (EOG) & End-of-Course (EOC) testing is coming up in June! These assessments help measure student learning and growth, so it’s important for all students to be present and prepared. Please check the full testing schedule here and make sure your student is present and on time for each testing day.
