Happy Friday Wakelon Families!

This is Mrs. Nealy, your Wakelon Principal with our weekly updates!  

No School on Tuesday: There will be no school for students on Tuesday, November 11 as this a national holiday.  Thank you so much to all of our Veterans!  We appreciate your services to our country and our local community.

Veteran's Day Concert: Next week, the 5^th Graders will be presenting a concert in honor of Veteran's Day on Thursday, Nov. 13^th at 6:00 pm. 

Report Card Distribution: Report cards will be distributed to all students today.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you did not receive their report card. 

Fall Conferences: We will begin having our Fall Conferences next week.  Please be sure to connect with your child’s teacher to discuss their current progress in school.  It’s important to maintain the school-to-home connection.  We look forward to seeing parents attend the conferences. 

Fun Family Activity: Our Family Engagement Committee is sponsoring an interactive Bingo Board! Students will receive a paper copy of the bingo board to take home and a digital copy will be shared with parents via Talkingpoints. Families need to complete 5 of the activities, submit pictures to a google form, or return their completed bingo board with a project to the library. If returning the physical copy of the bingo board, please make sure your students' name is on the paper. Any student that completes 5 activities will receive a special $5 bulldog buck and be entered into a raffle! There will be 3 raffle winners - a K-2 book set, a 3-5 book set, and a free pizza dinner! Student-created projects from the activities will also get the chance to be featured on the Morning Show at Wakelon! All boards need to be submitted by November 21st, and the raffle winners will be selected November 24th & 25th. We hope you will participate and have fun completing the activities with your families! A Spanish version will be available on request. 

Late Carpool Students: Please remember that all carpool students are expected to be picked up not later than 4:15.  We understand that traffic and transportation issues occur, but please communicate with our school staff ahead of time so that we can be better prepared to help the students.  Beginning Monday, students who are still on campus after 4:15 will receive a Late Notice message.
