Hello Wakelon Families! This is Principal Nealy with our school updates. 

We are wishing all of our Wakelon students and families a happy and safe Memorial Day holiday and weekend!

Wake Up and Read: Our WAKE Up and Read Annual Book Distribution is coming soon (Tuesday-Thursday, May 26th-28th). All K-3 students will have the opportunity to select up to 5 books, at no cost, to help build their home library and read over the summer! This is a great opportunity to come into school and support students as they shop. Please use this link to sign up to volunteer. Thank you! 

 End-of-Grade State Assessments: End-of-Grade (EOGs) tests are quickly approaching.  Students will be assessed in the areas of Reading, Math, and Science (only 5th grade). It is our desire that your student does his/her best work.  You can assist with this by ensuring your student is present and on time for each day of testing. Also, please make sure that students are getting the proper amount of rest and a healthy breakfast in the morning.  Breakfast and lunch will continue to be provided free of charge to all students every day.  Lastly, please make sure students do not bring non-essential items (toys, teddy bears, blankets, etc.) or wear improper attire (pajamas, slippers, etc.).  Below is the schedule of assessment dates:

• May 29 - EOGs: Reading (Grades 3, 4, & 5)

• June 1 - EOGs: Math (Grade 5)

• June 2 - EOGs: Math (Grades 3 & 4) & Science (Grade 5)

 End-of-Year Awards and Recognitions: We are excited to announce our End-of-Year Award Recognition Schedule.  We are looking forward to celebrating the achievements and academic growth of our students.  Please see the dates and times below.
