Otter Splash for the Weeks of September 14-28

It’s hard to believe Track 1 has already wrapped its first quarter, with Tracks 2, 3 & 4 close behind. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve raised over $41,000 on the Big Splash website—and that doesn’t even include our current sponsorships. The PTA is requesting your feedback to help us make next year even better; please take a moment to complete this FORM.

On Friday, we celebrated our Otterly Amazing Instructional Assistants and Braillists. We value them because they are the quiet force behind our success—providing small-group instruction and one-on-one support, ensuring safety and smooth transitions, and creating accessible learning through braille and adapted materials. Their skill, care, and teamwork help every student feel seen, supported, and ready to learn. We are deeply grateful for all they do!

Come and spend the evening with us at Oak Grove! 👨‍👩‍👧 Parents can join engaging sessions led by our teachers and specialists on ways to support learning at home 📚💡, while Oak Grove students enjoy fun, supervised activities in the multipurpose room 🎲🎨. Younger siblings are welcome to stay with parents if needed, and we kindly ask that teens remain at home 💙.

🍔🌭 Come hungry—Jolly’s Food Truck and Coastal Concessions will be on site with delicious food available for purchase! 🎉

🎉Attendance Spirit Week 🎉

Regular school attendance is one of the most important factors in helping students succeed. Being at school every day helps students stay on track with their learning and remain connected to their classmates. To highlight the importance of showing up, we’re excited to celebrate Attendance Spirit Week from September 15–19! Each day has a fun theme to encourage students to be present, so check out the flyer below for details on how to dress each day. We can’t wait to see our Otters join in the fun while building strong attendance habits!

🎶Otter Singers Chorus - 4th and 5th Grade Students - From Ms. Snider🎶

The Otter Singers Chorus for 4^th and 5th-grade students will begin rehearsals on October 14. To apply to be in the chorus, thoroughly read the linked information and complete the application no later than October 3.

Our fall picture days are right around the corner! 📸 We can’t wait to see all of our Otters dressed for success and ready to smile big for their photos. Mark your calendars: our fall picture dates are as follows:

Friday, September 19th - Tracks 2 & 4

Thursday, October 16th - Tracks 1 & 3

2026-27 Enrollment proposal released on Sept. 2

On Sept. 2, staff presented the initial draft of the 2026-27 enrollment proposal at the Board work session. This proposal will focus on the opening of Hilltop Needmore Elementary, aligning feeder patterns in some areas, and addressing ongoing crowding. The presentation was livestreamed on our YouTube page. We will host three virtual information sessions to answer questions families may have.

Sep. 9, 6 - 7:30 p.m. - Hilltop Needmore Elementary and other related proposed changes. Attend virtually.
Sep. 11, 6 - 7:30 p.m. - Apex area proposed changes. Attend virtually.
Sep. 17, 6 - 7:30 p.m. - Eastern area proposed changes and a general overview of the proposal. Attend virtually.

-Reflections is a theme-based art contest where students can compete in different art categories based on their interpretation of the theme! This year's theme is "I Belong".
-Submissions are due October 17th and can be submitted here.
