Wow—what an exciting two weeks it has been! We loved seeing our staff and students show their school spirit during Attendance Spirit Week, and a big thank you to everyone who joined us for Otter Parent Education Night. It was wonderful to see so many families, and we hope the sessions gave you helpful tools and ideas to continue supporting your child at home. 🧹♻️🧽Custodia Appreciation Day🧹♻️🧽

Custodial Appreciation Day is Wednesday, October 2nd! Please join us in celebrating Mr. Jorge and all he does to keep Oak Grove clean, safe, and welcoming each day. We are so grateful for his hard work and dedication to our school community. To show our appreciation, please have your class create a card, draw a picture, or make a banner for Mr. Jorge. Let’s make sure he knows how much he is valued by our Otters!

October is Bullying Prevention Month

October is recognized as Bullying Prevention Month, serving as a powerful reminder of the importance of kindness. Each day, we have the opportunity to model and encourage respect, empathy, and compassion in our classrooms. On select days, we will hold Spirit Days. Please see the chart below.

🦃🥧Holiday Meal Celebration - From Child Nutrition Services🦃🥧

We are excited to invite you to join us for our Holiday Meal Celebration on Monday, November 17th! This special meal will be served in our school café, and we would love you to share this time with your child(ren).

Our holiday menu will include:

Oven Roasted Turkey Tenderloin

Cornbread Stuffing

Creamy Mashed Potatoes with Gravy

Green Beans

Carrot Soufflé

Dinner Roll

Apple Crisp

Milk

Important Information:

All students are already included in our planning — no need to pre-order for them.
If you would like to join your child for this meal, please complete and return THIS PRE-ORDER FORM by October 17, so we can prepare for your visit. Please let your child’ teacher know if you would like a paper copy sent home.
The pre-order form includes a fun coloring activity for students. Even if you are not pre-ordering meals, your child may return their colored artwork to be displayed in our café for everyone to enjoy!

We look forward to celebrating together and making this a memorable event for our students and families. Thank you for being part of this special tradition!

🎶Otter Singers Chorus - 4th and 5th Grade Students - From Ms. Snider🎶

The Otter Singers Chorus for 4^th and 5th-grade students will begin rehearsals on October 14. To apply to be in the chorus, thoroughly read the linked information and complete the application no later than October 3.
