We have had a busy few weeks at Oak Grove! Our STEM Club is working diligently to prepare their project for NC TIES on Thursday. Additionally, our staff has been working hard planning for our Family Game Night and Student-Led Conferences on Thursday, March 26th. This is an event you will not want to miss! We hope you will join us and let your student share their goals, their data, and what they are learning.🧑‍🎓

Just a reminder that Tuesday, March 3rd, is a Teacher Workday. There will be no school for students, as our campus will serve as a polling location.🏫

Oak Grove Elementary is currently experiencing enrollment growth. The number of incoming students is increasing, which is impacting our overall enrollment numbers.

This growth directly affects the number of teacher positions allocated to our school, the number of classes we can offer at each grade level, and our instructional funding.

As we prepare for the 2026–2027 school year, principals must make staffing and budget decisions before the state budget is finalized. Because of this uncertainty, having accurate enrollment information is especially critical. Our projected enrollment determines staffing allocations and class configurations for next year.

To plan responsibly and best support our students and staff, we need to know if your family intends to remain at Oak Grove next school year. This information will help guide decisions regarding:

• Approval of track change requests (especially in grade levels with class size mandates)

• Track assignments for new families

• Staffing and class placements
  
  

Please complete THIS FORM by March 30 only if your current kindergarten, 1st-, 2nd-, 3rd-, or 4th-grade child(ren) will NOT be attending Oak Grove next year. Thank you for helping us plan thoughtfully and responsibly for the 2026–2027 school year.

Mr. Moore works tirelessly to support our students and families by removing barriers to learning, connecting families with community resources, and helping students develop the social-emotional skills they need to thrive. His compassion, calm presence, and unwavering dedication make a difference in the lives of our Otters every single day. We are so grateful for the care and commitment he brings to our school. Join us Thursday, March 26 (4:30–6:30 PM) for our Student-Led Conferences and Family Game Night!

Support Our Students: We are raising funds to ensure every student has access to school trips and events.

• Track 1 Families: You can support the cause by purchasing raffle tickets or temporary tattoos March 2-5 in the lobby during arrival or at game night on March 26!

• Tracks 2-4Families: Make your purchase March 23 - 26 in the lobby or at Game Night. 

• The Fun Part: Buy a tattoo for your favorite staff member to wear in support! Or purchase raffle tickets for a chance to win time with your favorite team members. 

• WILDLY READY TEST TAKERS SPIRIT WEEKS: To increase morale and set our students up for success, we have planned the following spirit weeks to allow all tracks to participate.

Mark your calendars for our upcoming Spring Individual and Class Pictures! This is a wonderful opportunity to capture special memories from the 2025–2026 school year. Students will take both their individual portrait and their class photo on the scheduled date, so please plan accordingly and consider sending your child dressed and ready to smile. We look forward to seeing our Otters shine in their spring photos!
