PTSA Teacher Appreciation Week is quickly approaching!  Not sure what to do - PTSA can help simply donate a GC to support our staff and teachers May 4-8!

PTSA Senior Scholarship Deadline – EXTENDED
Please note that the WHS PTSA Senior Scholarship deadline has been extended to Sunday, April 12, 2026 at midnight. Scholarships are $1,000 each.

Congratulations to Our Science Olympiad Team
Wakefield's Science Olympiad team competed in the Raleigh Regional Tournament the Saturday before Spring Break. The tournament consisted of 18 different science events. Our students earned:

  • 1st Place – Electric Vehicle
  • 2nd Place – Helicopter
  • 4th Place – Code Busters & Machines
  • 5th Place – Circuit Lab, Remote Sensing, and Water Quality

Overall, the team placed 7th out of 16 local high schools. If you see a team member, be sure to congratulate them!

ASVAB – April 29
The ASVAB aptitude test will be offered on April 29 for students who wish to participate. This will be the final administration this school year.

The ASVAB is used for military entrance and can also help students with career exploration and educational planning. The test (including instructions) takes approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes.

  • Report to the Media Center at 7:25 AM
  • Sign up by April 24

Book Drive
The Wakefield Literary Club is sponsoring a Children’s Book Drive from March 23 – April 17.

As you do your spring cleaning, consider donating new or gently used children’s books (ages 1–12). Books will be donated to Wake Up and Read.

  • Drop-off location: Wakefield Library Media Center entrance
  • Earn club hours (5 books = 1 hour)
