• Parent and Child Reading

Reading with your child and having conversations about the text with your child is the best way to support him/her. Reading aloud to your child will help challenge them by introducing more sophisticated vocabulary and increasing their critical thinking.  In addition, reading together is a great time for you to have meaningful discussions about literature.  These conversations provide the basis for learning comprehension skills. Making time to talk about books shows you value reading and sends the signal that reading is important.  So... make reading and talking about reading a part of each day!   Hopefully, it will become a time you and your child look forward to each day or night!
