• Homework Plan

    Lake Myra Elementary Homework Plan

Homework is intended to enrich, reinforce, and extend the curriculum, as well as to emphasize responsibility and good study habits. Homework can be given for skills that have been explained and practiced in class, as well as for enrichment. Homework will not be part of grading practices.

As a Leader in Me Lighthouse School, one of the 7 Habits is Sharpen the Saw. Students should balance their time between school, extracurricular activities, family, and friends. Link for more information.

If homework is assigned, grade levels will follow research-based guidelines for minutes of homework per day.

    • Kindergarten-2nd Grade: No more than 20 minutes per day.

    • 3rd-5th Grade: No more than 50 minutes per day.
