Miss Kelsey Eckler, Counselor
Hi Rolesville Rams and Families! I'm Kelsey Eckler and am so excited to be a part of the Rolesville Elementary Team. I grew up in Syracuse, New York and moved down to Raleigh in 2021 to soak in the sun and the warm weather. I graduated from SUNY Potsdam with a Bachelor's Degree in Childhood/Early Childhood Education. I then received my Master's Degree in School Counseling from Long Island University and completed my Certificate of Advanced Studies through SUNY Brockport. I have been a school counselor since 2017, but have worked in various school settings focused in supporting students in special education.
I have a cat named Fiona who occasionally likes to pretend she's a dog. When I am able, I love to travel and spend time with my friends and family. I enjoy hiking and love going to the beach.
I am overjoyed to be a part of the Rolesville family and truly enjoy getting to know each student. I work to support the students and facilitate their growth as individuals in the community.

Mrs. Melissa Thacher, Counselor
Hi! I'm Melissa Thacher. I grew up in Texas and Virginia, but my husband is a Raleigh native. I graduated from James Madison University and UNC Charlotte. I have a master's degree in counseling and am a National Board Certified Teacher in School Counseling. I have been a school counselor since 2003 and have at RES since 2016.
I have two children, Pierce and Carlie, and a puppy named Ruby. In my free time, I love going to food festivals, boating, and reading.
I think Rolesville is a great place to learn because our focus is always on what is best for children. Our staff continues to come up with new and engaging ways to reach our students.
I chose to work at Rolesville Elementary because our school is a tight-knit community with a small town feel. As large as Wake County has gotten, it is comforting to be in a place where people know and care about each other.
