Tours for the 2025-2026 school year will begin in October 2025 and continue until the magnet application process closes in January 2026.  In order to get the most out of your tour, please consider the following tips.

• We STRONGLY encourage you to bring your child with you.  We intentionally offer times that accommodate most elementary school schedules, and we try our best to keep tours to 1 hour.   It is also worth noting that we do not offer tours after the magnet application deadline (January 22); if your child is accepted, there will be opportunities in the Spring to come and see part of the building during schoolwide events, but there will not be additional chances to do a full building tour. 
• Enter the school parking lot from E. Martin St.  There are a few visitor spots.  If none are available, you can look for free or metered parking along E. Martin St., E. Davie St., or S. Person St. You can also park in the City Market lot (across Person St. from the school) for a fee.  
• Plan to arrive on campus 5-10 minutes before the tour begins in order to find parking and walk to the building. However, don't arrive too early, as staff will be busy assisting students during arrival (7:05-7:30), and traffic around the school will be heavy during that time.  
• It is okay to bring younger siblings and/or grandparents.
• Please enter through the main doors at the back of the building, accessible from the school parking lot off of E. Martin St.
• When you arrive, find the QR code on the entrance door, scan it, and complete it.  This is the standard sign-in procedure when visiting a WCPSS campus. When you are admitted into the lobby, the Magnet Coordinator will greet you.  
• We begin tours promptly at the assigned time, because we want to honor everyone's time!  If you arrive late, please ring the doorbell, and a staff member will assist you.
