PUE Friday Newsletter 12/6/24
Posted by Bryan Tunstall on 12/6/2024 4:00:00 PMHello PUE Families,
Happy Friday and happy track-out day for Track 1! We hope you have a great track out and we will see you next year. We look forward to having track 2 return to us on Monday, 12/9.
We have a few items left for our annual Giving Tree. If you are willing to buy gifts for a family in need, please drop by our front office to pickup the requested items.
We had two great celebrations this past week that I wanted to highlight. Our track 3rd graders from tracks 1 and 3 hosted our annual Veteran's Day Concert to celebrate the veterans connected to our community. They did an amazing job and we were thrilled to host some our local veterans. We also hosted our school spelling bee which was quite the competition. It went for over two hours and 41 rounds. In the end our winner was Harrison F. from 4th grade track 3 who will go forward to represent PUE in the county spelling bee in February. Good luck Harrison!

PUE Friday Newsletter 11/15/24
Posted by Bryan Tunstall on 11/15/2024 4:00:00 PMHello PUE Families,
We hope everyone had an enjoyable 3-day weekend and were able to celebrate Veteran's Day. Ms. Peggy is still taking Our Heros sheets on veterans that are connected to our community. The form can be found here, and we look forward to showcasing these in our front lobby. Our 3rd graders will have a Veteran's Day concert in December to honor our armed services.
If you haven't heard, our staff has selected our 2024-2025 Teacher of the Year and Instructional Assistant of the Year. Congratulations to our music teacher Ms. Peggy Depasquale. She has led our music department and chorus for many years, and is a shining example of what great teaching looks like everyday! We also want to congratulate Ms. Annie Andruchowitz, who is an IA in CCK class. She has only been with us a few years, but has quickly distinguished herself as a supportive, positive influence who loves to work with kids. Make sure to celebrate these two great educators when you see them next!

PUE Friday Newsletter 11/1/24
Posted by Bryan Tunstall on 11/1/2024 4:00:00 PMHello PUE Families,
Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU for an amazing Boosterthon Fundraiser! With your support, our PTA broke our stretch goal of $50,000 this morning! Your donations will go directly toward teacher supplements, student online subscriptions, curriculum support, wellness efforts, the arts and global program, enriching the educational experience for all students at Pleasant Union Elementary. These funds make a huge impact on our school. Also, the kids really enjoyed sliming me and Mr. Stern. We will get slimed one more time for track 3 when they track back in.
We also wanted to thank our school community for showing up and showing out for Carpool Cassanova. It was a great event for our students and everyone had a blast during morning carpool.
A reminder that there is no school next Tuesday, 11/5 for students. It will be a teacher workday since there will be voting taking place on our campus.

PUE Friday Newsletter 10/25/24
Posted by Bryan Tunstall on 10/25/2024 4:00:00 PMHello PUE Families,
We hope everyone has had a great week! We continue to be blown away by how giving our families are during our Boosterthon Fundraiser. The fundraiser wraps up on Thursday, 10/31 with our Tr. 4 Fun Run at 9:45am. Come out and cheer your kiddo on as we celebrate our fundraising success!
Next Thursday, 10/31 is a busy day for us at PUE. In addition to the Fun Run, we will have Carpool Casanova from MIX 101.5 FM on campus during morning carpool 8:45-9:15. He does reward a School Spirit Award for the most spirited school he visits, so we encourage our students to wear pink on Thursday. Families are welcome to park and walk their students to the door and show some school spirit. Even if you don't get out of your car, I recommend that you allot more time for carpool as we expect it to be more crowded and take longer than normal.
A reminder that students may not wear costumes on Halloween, 10/31 during the school day. We appreciate your support in this.
