    Hello PUE Families,

We're excited to introduce this year's main fundraiser, the Pleasant Union Elementary Fun Run. Our goal this year is to raise $40,000 for teacher supplements, student online subscriptions, curriculum support, wellness efforts, the arts and global program to benefit ALL students at Pleasant Union Elementary. Anyone who registers before Kickoff will be entered into a drawing for 3 students to get a free year book and school supplies. (3 winners total, 2 from track 1,2,3 and 1 winner from track 4)

We’re excited for this fundraising experience because it offers 3 important things to our school community:

    1️⃣ User-friendly fundraising platform

    2️⃣ Character enrichment program

3️⃣ Fitness-focused event that includes ALL of our students

As a family, you will work together asking friends and family to donate on your student’s Donation Page at MyBooster.com. The best part is, you can still support our school just by SHARING about the fundraiser! Anyone who registers before Kickoff will be entered into a drawing for 3 students to get a free year book and school supplies. (3 winners total, 2 from track 1,2,3 and 1 winner from track 4)

Students will also experience an amazing character enrichment program called “Castle Quest”, teaching students about how to be brave and live with character. Anyone who registers before Kickoff will be entered into a drawing for 3 students to get a free year book and school supplies. (3 winners total, 2 from track 1,2,3 and 1 winner from track 4). We look forward to a great Fun Run!

    Hello PUE Families,

Thank you to all of our amazing students who participated in our Spirit Week. It was great to see all the different outfits this week. For those who missed the communication from the county, you can now checkout our 23-24 School Progress Report. Thanks to our great staff and students, we continue to outperform the state and other schools in WCPSS in state testing and growth!

The deadline to renew your volunteer registration is quickly approaching. If you are unsure if you plan on volunteering or not, I would still encourage you to complete the application to volunteer for WCPSS. It can take several weeks to be approved, so the sooner you apply the better.

Now through October 7, all students are welcome to sell GoPlaySave coupon books. Purchasing a book will give you access to hundreds of discounts to vendors all over the Triangle! The top selling student will win a party at Urban Air. Students who sell three or more books will be entered into prize drawings. All funds raised will benefit the PUE chorus and Music Department. Click here to see the list of vendors and to purchase.

Posted by Bryan Tunstall on 9/6/2024 5:00:00 PM

    Hello PUE Families,

Happy Friday! I hope everyone has enjoyed the cooler temps and gotten to spend some time outdoors. Today is a track-out day for Track 1 and the end of their first 9 weeks. We hope you have a great break and we look forward to having Track 2 return on Monday, 9/9.

Don't forget that this Sunday, 9/8 is our Family Fun Event and General PTA Membership meeting from 1pm-2pm at school. Kona Ice will be on-site and we will have several outdoor games setup. We look forward to seeing our families.

For our carpool parents who arrive before 3:15pm, a few friendly reminders. The 2nd line does not begin until 3:15. This allows people parked to actually be able to leave the parking lot. When the 2nd line forms, please be cautious and kind. There have been several almost-accidents in the line as people try and jockey to get to the front of the second line. I can promise you that the two minutes you are saving by being a few cars ahead is not worth an injury or car damage.

Next week, we will have a Spirit Week to Celebrate our academic success from the 23-24 school year. Accountability data from last year was approved this week by NCDPI and is now public. Pleasant Union made overall proficiency growth in both math and reading, and exceeded expected growth! We are so proud of all of our students and teachers who made this a reality. Students are invited to participate in the Spirit Week with teachers:

Mon- Last Day of Summers- Hawaiian Wear

Tue- Twin Day- Dress like a friend/teacher

    Wed- Workout Wear Day

    Thurs- Sports Team/Jeans Day

    Friday- PUE Purple Day

Finally, next Friday, 9/13 is Instructional Assistant Appreciation Day. Please show our wonderful IAs some love for all that they do to make PUE a success!

    Hello PUE Families,

We hope everyone has had an awesome week and enjoyed the cooler temperatures!

An important reminder that traditional schools start next Tuesday, 8/27. Bus routes will be affected by the increase in traffic and many having to do extra runs at traditional schools. Please make sure to review updates to bus stop times here. Many of our buses will not even depart from PUE until after 4:20. We will only send a communication via Remind texts about late buses if it is running more than 20 minutes behind it's normal schedule. If you have not done so already, please make sure that you are signed up for our Remind texts for bus transportation (click here sign-up). This is how we communicate when a bus is late or cancelled. I also encourage you to have the Here Comes the Bus App that has live GPS tracking of buses.

    Hello PUE Families,

I hope all of our families were able to stay safe and dry as Hurricane Debby made her way through our area. We appreciate everyone's patience since we know carpool has taken a little longer than normal during this very wet week.

Next Tuesday, 8/13 is our Open House for Track 4 from 5pm-6:30pm. Come out to meet your child's teacher and checkout their classroom. This is a floating open house, so you can attend anytime between 5pm and 6:30pm. Our PTA will be present selling PUE swag as well.

After Open House on Tuesday, make sure to swing by Goodberry's for our 2nd PUE Spirit Night! Mention PUE at checkout for a portion of the sales to go to our wonderful PTA.
