Science Olympiad is an after school club for 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who are interested in competing in a spring NC Science Olympiad tournament. NCSO is a nonprofit organization with the mission to attract and retain K-12 students entering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) degrees and careers in North Carolina. The challenging and self-motivating events of NCSO align with the North Carolina Standard Course of Study as well as the National Science Education Standards. The events are designed to enhance and strengthen both science content and process skills. Club sessions expose students to a variety of science areas and help prepare them for specific NCSO events.
