Hi! My name is Jenna Bishop and I’m so excited to be joining the family at Joyner Elementary! I just moved to North Carolina from Maine and am looking forward to more sunshine and less snow! I graduated from the University of Maine in 2020 with a degree in Elementary Education as well as Early Childhood Education. I have experience teaching both First Grade and Kindergarten in Maine and I’m thrilled for my third year with a class to be with the Kindergarten kiddos at Joyner! Outside of work I love going out and exploring new places. I’m always looking to find new trails to walk, good restaurants to eat at, performances to attend, and more. I’m so excited to meet everyone and get started with the year, I cannot wait to see how these learners grow!

I am so excited and honored to be a part of the JY Joyner family. I became a teacher because I can't see myself doing anything else. I enjoy building relationships with students and watching them learn and grow socially, academically, and emotionally. I love teaching kindergarten and can’t wait to meet my new class! I grew up in Raleigh and went to Wake County Public Schools for elementary, middle, and high school. I graduated from Appalachian State University in Boone, in 2007 with a degree in Elementary Education. Go Mountaineers! My husband and I stay busy with our two sons, daughter, dog and 3 chickens. In my free time I enjoy reading, gardening, eating delicious food, and being outside. I am very excited about the upcoming year! By the end of the year, your child will be a sensational scientist, an awesome author, a marvelous mathematician, a social studies superstar, a radical reader, and so much more. I am looking forward to working together to have a successful year.

I love being a part of the JYJ family and Kindergarten team.  I grew up in Warren, Pennsylvania, a small, beautiful town.  I moved to NC to attend college at East Carolina University. Yes!  I am a proud pirate!  I graduated from ECU, in 1999, with my Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Development.  I then obtained by K-6 degree.  I taught for 12 years in Morehead City, NC before becoming a part of the Joyner family.  I have a son and daughter who both attend Joyner. Outside of work, my family is my life.  I love doing anything outdoors with my children, running, hiking, reading and spending time with our beloved dog Stella. I absolutely love working with children.  I love to fuel their curiosity, encourage their love of learning and watch them grow.  I can not imagine a more rewarding job. I am so excited to begin a new and outstanding year. .

Hi everyone! My name is Jordan Watson and I am so excited to join your team and school family at Joyner! I just graduated from ECU in May with my Elementary Education degree and am continuing to get my masters in Early Childhood Education. I am thrilled to be a part of the Kindergarten team for my first year and become great friends with everyone. I am originally from Maryland and will be new to the Raleigh area, but I am honored to be able to begin my teaching journey at Joyner Magnet and continue to spread the vision of your school for giving children the best education possible.
