Lucille Hunter Gifted & Talented /AIG Basics Magnet Elementary is located in downtown Raleigh and is Wake County’s first magnet school. Our school prides itself on being diverse and exposing all children to cultural, social, ethnic, familial, and racial differences. Over half of the 600+ students elect to attend Hunter for its vibrant Arts Department and Gifted & Talented electives. All students have the opportunity to participate in both arts-based and academic-based electives of their choice. At Hunter, we recognize that all children have gifts and talents. It’s our goal to explore, develop, and nourish those qualities which make your child special.

Bell Schedule

Students can arrive at Hunter between 8:45 and 9:15 each day.  Our school's tardy bell rings at 9:15.  In the afternoon, we dismiss students at 3:45.   (We do not check students out after 3:15 pm.  Please plan accordingly.)
