Standard Course of Study Curriculum

All course credits and test requirements of at least one Course of Study must be met for a student to earn a high school diploma.
Future Ready Core
Students entering high school after the 2012-2013 school year follow the Future Ready Core graduation requirements. In order to graduate from any high school in North Carolina a student must complete the following:
o 4 Credits in English including I, II, III, and IV
o 4 Credits in Math including Math I, II, III, and a fourth math course aligned with the student's post-graduation plans
o 3 Credits in Science including Biology, a physical science, and earth/environmental science
o 4 Credits in Social Studies including World History, American History I and II, and Civics and Economics
o 1 Credit of Health and Physical Education
o 6 Credits of Electives made up of: CTE, the Arts, or any other subject area (A four course concentration in one of these areas is highly recommended)

(Please note that credits in world languages are not required for high school graduation, but they are required as part of the University of North Carolina System's minimum admission requirements.)
