My name is Karen Attwood and I have worked at Olds Elementary School since 2009. I grew up in upstate New York, but I have lived in North Carolina throughout my adulthood. I earned B.A. and M.A. in Psychology degrees from Wake Forest University (Go Deacs!), after which I completed a Ph.D. in School Psychology at NC State University (Go Wolfpack too!). I have worked as a school psychologist in WCPSS since 2004, serving students in preschool through high school. Currently, I split my time between two elementary schools, typically working at Olds on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In my personal time, I enjoy listening to audiobooks, taking walks, and spending time with my husband, children, dog, and recently adopted cat. Our daughter is a sophomore at UNC-Chapel Hill and our son is starting middle school this year. I am excited for another great year at Olds!
