Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Stacie McGuirt

I am humbled and honored to serve as principal of Beaverdam Elementary.  I prioritize meaningful collaboration with staff, families, and our community to ensure the success of every student, every day.

I was born in Ohio and moved to Raleigh when I started middle school. After graduating from Leesville Road High School, I attended Western Carolina University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree. I started my teaching career as a fifth-grade teacher and I soon realized how passionate I was about using the best strategies and differentiated lessons to grow my students. I continued my education at North Carolina Central University where I earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

I spent 12 years teaching at the elementary level. During my time in the classroom, I taught fifth, fourth, and second grades, as well as kindergarten. I served as a mentor for beginning teachers and enjoyed collaborating with my team on how best to serve our students.  In the Fall of 2013, I became an Instructional Resource Teacher at Reedy Creek Elementary School, which prepared me to pursue administration.

I completed my school administration licensure in June 2018 and started my administrative career at Lufkin Road Middle School. I served as the assistant principal at Lufkin for four years and was able to support all three grade levels during that time.  While I am sad to be leaving the Lufkin community that I have grown to love, I am very excited to start building and developing new relationships with you all at Beaverdam.

On a personal note, I have been married to my husband, Regan, for over 22 years, and we have three beautiful children together. Carson will start his junior year of high school this fall, Claire has just begun seventh grade and Coen has just begun first grade. On top of that, we have a stubborn French Bulldog named Bromaine who we enjoy taking to the beach.

Please know how serious and committed I am to serving our students, staff, families, and the greater community. I look forward to collaborating and partnering with families and I will work to schedule an opportunity to meet with you all in the coming weeks.

Your Proud Principal,

Stacie McGuirt
