Welcome to Carpenter Elementary
Carpenter is a K-5 public school in Cary, North Carolina. We’re part of the Wake County Public School System.
Carpenter Elementary staff is dedicated to providing integrated, research-based instruction designed to meet the individual needs of children. Our unique outdoor, environmental education center provides a space for students to demonstrate creativity and to satisfy their natural curiosity. The school’s climate encourages critical thinking and collaborative learning.
Students enhance critical thinking skills through engaging in 21st Century learning opportunities using technology and media center resources. Project-based learning is supported as students use iPADs, Promethean Boards, document cameras, and Chromebooks to enhance presentations. The use of technology is integrated with the core curriculum throughout the school day.
The children at Carpenter benefit from specialists who teach Art, Music, Physical Education, STEAM and Media. Special Education, Reading and Intervention specialists support students who need academic assistance. Classroom teachers work closely with the Academically and Intellectually Gifted instructor to expand active learning experiences for all children. The AIG teacher works with students in classrooms and small groups in a separate classroom.
You are welcome to visit Carpenter to experience the supportive learning environment provided for our students. We are enriched by a supportive community and an active PTA who works tirelessly to assist the staff in providing exciting learning opportunities for the children. Our Outdoor Environmental Center, Camp Chameleon, was developed through our dedicated parents and Parent Teacher Association.
Come and experience Chameleon energy and excitement for learning.
