Dr. Nelson is a 3 time HBCU graduate earning a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida A & M University, a Master's degree in Counselor Education from NC A & T State University and a terminal degree in Educational Leadership from Fayetteville State University. Dr. Nelson has over 15 years of experience in education working at both the middle and high school levels. Dr. Nelson is a strong advocate for all students and has a particular interest in assisting students in overcoming obstacles to achieve both personal and professional goals. Dr. Nelson is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor and holds certifications in career development and special populations. She considers herself a lifelong learner and in her spare time, Dr. Nelson enjoys traveling, reading, spending time with family and friends and listening to music.
