Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is an acceleration opportunity in either ELA or math available to enrolled and attending WCPSS students.  Testing for SSA for the 2026-27 school year will be available soon.  

 

If you would like your child to test for SSA, parents/guardians must fill out the Central Services SSA Test Request Form.  A link to this form will be shared soon and must be filled out during the following dates: 

 

For more information about the SSA program at Ballentine, please plan to attend one of our school's SSA informational meetings, led by our AIG teacher, Julie Schmidt.  These meetings will be held virtually and will be recorded for those unable to attend.  There is no need to register for either session; please just click the link meet.google.com/zwb-dcbn-wca and join us at 6pm on your chosen day. 

The 2025-26 Spelling Bee season is upon us. Spelling bee lists have been sent home with all students who chose to participate.  Each classroom will host their own bee to determine classroom winners.  Grade 4-5 classroom winners will participate in the schoolwide spelling bee, to be held on Friday, January 16th.   Thank you also to our super PTA for coordinating this fabulous event.  Happy studying!
