What is the calendar for Lincoln Heights?
We follow the traditional school calendar.
When can students arrive each day?
Our instructional school hours are 8:30 am to 3:00 pm. Students may arrive as early as 8:00 am. Students are considered tardy if they are not in their seat ready to begin at 8:30 am.
Can my child bring their lunch?
Students may bring their lunch from home or get lunch from our school cafeteria.
How long is recess each day?
Our students get 30 minutes of recess each day. Since we have the Environmental Connections Magnet Program, our students get daily outdoor learning opportunities in addition to recess!
What specials do you offer?
We offer Media, Art, Music, PE, and two days of Environmental Inquiry (EI).
Do you have daily folders? We love to communicate with families! Sending home a weekly folder with all the information throughout the school is our main form of communication between teachers and families. Do you give homework?
What is the typical class size?
We have an average of 18 students in a class in lower grades. 4th and 5th grade class sizes range from 24-26 students.
What types of technology do students have access to at Lincoln Heights?
Each classroom is equipped with a 70 inch monitor. Each class has laptops, Chromebooks, and/or iPads.
In addition, students have access to VR Goggles, 3D printers, BeeBots, Ozmos, Dash and Dot, Lego WeDo, Merge Cubes, and Padcaster Station with Green Screen.
For our Environmental Connections theme, we have telescopes, spotting scopes, microscopes, pressure/temperature sensors, outdoor trail cameras, indoor tower gardens, weather instruments, and more.
Do you have electives?
Yes! Expeditions are what we call our electives. Students participate in an Expedition of their choice each day for 30 minutes. They participate in a different Expedition each quarter designed specifically for their grade level.
