• Single Subject Acceleration (SSA)

    What is SSA?

SSA is the practice of placing a student in a higher-grade level in ONE subject area. The purpose is to provide access to appropriately challenging learning opportunities in either math OR English Language Arts (ELA). Only students who are currently enrolled and attending a WCPSS school during the open nomination and testing window are eligible to be considered for SSA. Students are tested in either math OR ELA and must meet specific criteria to show they have already mastered the content in the grade they wish to skip.

How can I learn more about the SSA process and what it entails?
