    Vision/Mission

    The Carver Elementary Parent Teacher Organization is a nonprofit Parent Teacher Association (PTA) whose vision/ mission is to establish a relationship/ build a partnership between our school and our families by engaging and empowering our community to support our students in achieving their full potential. The overall purpose of PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. We also want to provide the best environment possible for the growth and development of Carver’s students.

    Goals and Objectives

    The goals and objectives of the Carver Elementary Parent Teacher Association are as follows:

    • Increase Parent Involvement
      • Promote communication and partnership between students, faculty and parents
        • Which includes increase membership – membership numbers to equal at least 50% of student enrollment and 100% Carver teachers and staff enrollment;
        • provide a welcoming atmosphere at meetings;
        • provide more “working-parent-friendly” volunteer opportunities;
        • promoting parental and family participation and involvement and
        • provide translation services to Spanish-speaking families.
      • Create and enhance the educational environment, by promoting children’s health, well-being, and educational success through strong parent, family, teacher and community involvement.
      • Recruit volunteers and coordinate volunteer efforts for programs and projects that support and enrich Carver Elementary
    • Be a powerful voice for all children, a relevant resource for families and a strong advocate for the education and wellbeing of every child.
    • Create and cultivate a sense of community amongst Carver.
    • To support Carvers students’ intellectual, physical, social and moral development.
      • Provide opportunities for academic enrichment with after-school programs/clubs.
    • Foster a sense of community and family involvement: parent/child events; October Family Event, family meal at general PTA meetings, other social opportunities.
    • Provide staff support:
      • Teacher grants;
      • Staff appreciation;
      • Field Day.
    • Build an effective communication strategy:
      • Provide effective PTA communication/increase communications for PTA programs, services and events.
      • Memberhub
      • Create several means of communication and evaluate the sucess of these methods periodically.
    • Engage in necessary fundraising to finance our budgeted goals:
      • Book Fair; 
      • Fun Run;
      • Candy Man;
      • Spirit Nights - Dinner Out
    • Provide fundraising and volunteer support for academic and enrichment activities
    • Bring a financially stable, well-managed organization that promotes diversity, provides quality service, models best practices and values its members.
