EL English Language Arts Resource
2nd - 5th Grades

WCPSS adopted the EL Education curriculum as a result of a WCPSS quality review process.  In grades 2-8, EL Education was found to be in direct correlation with the instructional shifts/standards and the WCPSS Strategic Plan.

This new resource provides extensive opportunities for students to communicate, collaborate, think critically, and be creative. EL provides daily instructional opportunities for students to speak, write, listen, and read increasingly complex texts around a specified topic.  WCPSS has adopted this new resource in a phased-in approach across all Wake County elementary and middle schools.  As of June 2019, EL has been adoped in grades two through five.
