What is a magnet program?
A magnet program is a unique, educational expansion to the Common Core and North Carolina Essential Standards. It is designed to attract families by offering experiences that are not available in a non-magnet school. The magnet objectives are to reduce high concentrations of poverty, promote diverse populations, maximize the use of school facilities, and provide innovative and/or expanded educational opportunities.How do I apply to enroll my child in a magnet school if it is not our base school assignment?
The magnet application will be available October 14, 2024 – January 23, 2025. Learn more about the application process at WCPSS Application Information. It is only available during the application period. All applicants must have a WCPSS student ID number in order to apply - rising kindergarten students receive their ID number when they register at their base elementary school. Late applications are not available.How do I know if Wiley is a Magnet school option for my family?
