I grew up in Indian Trail, North Carolina which is about 20 minutes southeast of Charlotte.  I received my Bachelor of Arts in History at UNC Charlotte. I then started my teaching career in Indian Trail teaching middle school social studies and coaching cross country. Running is one of my favorite hobbies.  Another one of my favorite things to do is travel; I’ve been to 17 countries and about 40 states so far. My most recent trip was to the Rocky Mountains of Canada. It was absolutely beautiful. I love learning about the history, culture and seeing the natural beauty of places all throughout the world. Being a positive role model and making an impact on students' lives is my goal.  In turn my students have had a tremendous impact on my life as well!
