About: I am thrilled for my 4th year at WashinGTon Magnet Elementary! I grew up in Raleigh and earned a BA in English from Appalachian State University. I went back to school for my teaching degree, and I graduated from Peace University. I believe that all Kindergarteners should learn in a classroom that is fun and engaging in order to help develop a love of learning. Using student collaboration and project-based learning, students will work together to learn and grow while gaining new skills. When I am not at school, I enjoy reading, hiking, and spending time with my family. My husband Julian and I have two sons. Ryan is 21 and is a Junior at NCSU. Owen is 17 and begins his senior year at Millbrook High this year. We have a puppy named Misty that keeps us all on our toes. I am so excited to welcome our new students to school!
