Global @ JGES

  • JGES is proud and excited to be one of the 18 schools in Wake County that are part of the Global Schools Network, along with schools in 14 districts around the state. It is essential that students today not only learn the traditional curriculum, but that they also gain knowledge and skills that will prepare them to be global citizens who can succeed in the 21st century. Students graduating from college today need to have both STEM skills and global competence as they enter the workforce in our increasingly globalized world, and our new focus will begin preparing our students for this in fun and exciting ways!

JGES will implement our global STEM focus through the use of Project Based Learning. PBL is a student-influenced inquiry process in which students explore authentic questions through projects. The projects are designed around meaningful tasks that help to develop higher-level thinking and 21st century skills.
