A native of Apex, I am exceptionally proud to serve as the Principal of Apex Elementary School, a school where I was once a student myself. In addition to my 20 years of service in WCPSS as teacher and school leader, I was fortunate to have served the Chapel Hill-Carrboro School System as both a Principal and Assistant Principal for 7 years.

As a servant leader, I am skilled at building warm, positive, and trusting relationships, the foundation of a strong school culture. Equity is the core of my leadership consciousness, teaching and modeling equitable practices, creating safe space for staff, students, and families to examine and have conversations about doing the work of eliminating “the ability to predict achievement based on socioeconomic status, race, and ethnicity”.

I am a two-time graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As a champion of public schools, I serve on the Apex Public School Foundation as a Principal Advisor and serve on the WCPSS human resource committee. My additional professional accomplishments include: WCPSS TOY Semi-Finalist, WCPSS POY Semi-Finalist, NCAAHPERD Elementary Teacher of the Year, WRAL “Teacher of the Week” and CHCCS Assistant Principal of the Year. As a school leader, I have professionally presented at both the annual NCTIES Conference and NCPAPA Fall Symposium.

When I am not at Apex Elementary, I enjoy spending time with my husband and two adult sons. I can be found cheering for Apex High, the UNC Tarheels or the Carolina Hurricanes. I love to read, visit with friends, visit the beach and all things Disney.

I am honored to serve as your Principal. Please feel free to reach out to me at any time as my door is always open!
