Single Subject Acceleration (SSA) is an acceleration opportunity available to enrolled and attending students in the Wake County Public School System (WCPSS).  As outlined in Board Policy 3422, K-8th-grade students who meet specific criteria in Mathematics or English Language Arts (ELA) have the opportunity to accelerate in one subject area. Only students who are currently enrolled and attending a WCPSS school during the open nomination and testing window are eligible for consideration for SSA. 

Wake County has extended the SSA Test Request window.  SSA Test Requests will be accepted from February 9th through February 13th.  There will be no additional test request extensions for this school year.  If you would like your student to take the SSA assessment in either reading or math, please contact Kasey Jamieson at kjamieson@wcpss.net.  Please provide your name, your child's ame, and your child's grade and the subject in which you would like your child to test.
