Global Studies: Our global study programs aim to equip students to become global citizens. They explore the world, understand diverse perspectives, creatively address the Sustainable Development Goals, and effectively communicate their ideas. Our students engage with the world through literature, cultural studies, character education, and various projects.
World Languages: In addition to our Specials, or "Quests" (Media, Music, Art, P.E., STEM & GLOW), students can choose a language elective. Beginning in kindergarten, they have the option to study Spanish or French for an average of 90 minutes per week throughout their years at DDMES.
Spanish Immersion: Learning Spanish unlocks a world of opportunities! With over 400 million speakers, Spanish is the second most spoken language globally. Starting in kindergarten, we offer two cohorts in our Spanish Immersion program. Students gain fluency in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Spanish. Studies show that fully proficient bilinguals outperform monolinguals in the areas of divergent thinking, pattern recognition, and problem-solving.
Our Spanish Immersion program is structured according to the following models:
Grades K-1:
- 90% of daily instruction is delivered in Spanish
- 10% of daily instruction is delivered in English
Grade 2:
- 80% of daily instruction is delivered in Spanish

Grade 3:
