My name is Tara Yunker, and I am so excited to serve as principal of Cedar Fork Elementary School. I come to Cedar Fork with 23 years of experience in education. My journey began in Ohio, where I spent my first 12 years teaching sixth, fifth, and third grade. After relocating to North Carolina, I joined WCPSS and have since had the privilege of serving in various roles (teacher, instructional facilitator, and assistant principal) across different schools. I have worked at Green Hope Elementary School, Highcroft Drive Elementary, Salem Elementary, and had the honor of being part of the team that opened Apex Friendship Elementary School. As the leader of Cedar Fork Elementary, my foremost goal is to build upon the rich traditions and strong foundation. I firmly believe in creating a student-centered environment where learning is not only rigorous but also relevant and engaging. It is my commitment that Cedar Fork Elementary School will continue to be a safe, equitable, and nurturing community that fosters a love for learning and supports each student in achieving their highest academic potential.
