Students spend four periods a day in the core areas of English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. During their remaining three elective periods students can choose from the areas listed above to hone their existing talents or explore new areas of interest. Most electives are offered on a quarter basis while others are a semester or a year long. This model provides students with the widest variety of choices available to promote the interests beyond core academic classes. All students receive differentiated educational services in core classes--English Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies. Our AIG and special programs staff provide support and assistance to teachers are their students, allowing all students to benefit from best teaching practices. Teachers also have flexibility in their classroom to group students to ensure success or a need for challenge. All students have the opportunity to participate in the highest level of instruction and tiered assignments provide additional challenges and supports for students who require them. The elective programs support our core instruction as students can select from courses at the beginning level through an advanced level of study.
