    General  Information

Crossroads FLEX High School, established in 2016, is one of thirty-one high schools within the Wake County Public School System, North Carolina, designed to serve up to 150 students. The Wake County School System is the 16th largest public-school system in the U.S. with almost 160,000 students. Located in Cary, NC, the community is a rapidly growing area composed of multi-suburban and small-town families that border the capital city of Raleigh and the Research Triangle Park. Crossroads FLEX High School is a digital learning school in which students take courses online or through a blended learning model with certified teachers.

Crossroads FLEX High School offers students a flexible learning experience that allows them to prioritize both academic and personal pursuits (or passions), such as competitive arts and sports. Students engage in learning both in-person Monday through Thursday and virtually throughout the week. The school partners with North Carolina Virtual Public Schools to provide students with access to additional AP and elective offerings. Students are also expected to meet weekly seat time requirements based on their grade level. A Crossroads FLEX student is responsible, self-driven, engaged, and upholds the highest standards of integrity. To engage in this unique learning environment, students must already be committed to their pursuit and participate 20+ hours per week.

The school offers a full complement of arts, English, math, world languages, science, social studies, advanced placement, physical education, and career and technical courses. Students also have the opportunity for dual enrollment to take college courses at the local community college.

Profile Statement issued by the Wake County Public School System

As you review WCPSS transcripts, please note that there are fewer elective, AP, and Honors courses available. Within our high schools, there have been reductions in the number of electives, AP and Honors courses offered, as well as number of sections or times offered during the day. This has a direct impact on our seniors and what appears on their transcripts.
