Hello River Bend ES Families,

It is important for our students to be present daily and ready to learn. Attendance is required by N.C. state law for children between the ages of 7-16. Below is the attendance policy for WCPSS.

Excused absences include:

• Illness or injury
• Death in the family
• Health care appointments
• Court appearances (students only) 
• Religious observance
• Outside educational opportunities (You will need to complete and submit the following forms in advance) Request For Excused Absence For Educational Reasons Form (English)| Request For Excused Absence For Educational Reasons(Spanish) 

You will need to provide a note within two days of your child's return to school or the absences will be recorded as unexcused. RBES school staff will notify you if there are more than 3 unexcused absences, 

Your child will need to make up all the work he or she missed, as scheduled by the teacher.
