• 2024 Apex Christmas Parade

    Welcome to your one-stop source of information about OCE's participation in the 2024 Apex Christmas Parade. We're so excited to join the parade and represent the incredible OCE community!

     

    Day of Information

    • APEX PARADE MEETING LOCATION (3:30-4:00PM): Line up for the parade is on Ambergate Station between Hunter Street and Apex Peakway. Please enter at the skate park side and just walk along until you see our truck and teachers. Be sure to leave plenty of extra time to find parking and walk to our location. Roads may be blocked.

      • PARADE NUMBER: We are group #35 in the Apex parade out of 120 groups walking.

      • PARKING: We recommend that parents park on the Salem Street Pub side of town or at Apex Public Works parking lot. That way, you don’t have to cross the parade route to collect your student at the end. 

      • ARRIVAL TIME: ALL students should plan to arrive at 4PM at the latest for the Apex parade. 

    • CHECK IN: Please find your club leader to check in. Club leaders will be wearing a green elf hat.

      • When a student checks in, the club leader is responsible for their group and will check them in.

        • Students will receive a bracelet with their name, a number, and emergency contact number. 

        • Parents will receive a wristband with their child’s name and number. Parents will need to keep their wristband until check out.

        • Once a student is checked in, parents are welcome to find their seats to watch the parade.

    • CHECKOUT: For the SAFETY of all of our students, we are asking that all parents pick up students immediately after they pass the main block of the parade. Our ending point is the Apex Public Works Building parking lot.

     

    What to Bring

    We recommend the following in disposable packaging:

    • Water
    • Snacks to provide enough sustenance and energy for three (or more!) hours
    • Hand warmers and/or feet warmers

     

    What to Wear

    • OCE hoodie
    • Blue jeans
    • Comfortable shoes
    • A hat will be provided by the OCE PTA

     

    Where to Meet Post-Parade

    Apex Public Works parking lot. Look for the OCE pick-up sign.
