Reading Rocks! at HRES
Reading Rocks! is a program which rewards students for reading books and writing short reports. The program is voluntary and costs you nothing. Here’s how it works:
- Students read books of their choosing. The books should be on the students grade/reading level. They write a short report on a form the teacher will supply.
- First grade 2-3 sentences, second grade 4-5 sentences, third grade at least a paragraph, fourth and fifth should fill the page. One book equals one report regardless of size of the book.
- Every 4 reports earn students a prize. The 16th report makes them a Grand Champion and they receive a tee shirt.
