Medication at School
If your child will require medication at school (for example: Benadryl, Epipen, Inhaler or over-the-counter medications), you will need to provide a completed Form 1702 "Parent Request and Physician's Order Form for Medication" by you and your child's doctor. The form is also available from the Main Office at school.
At the beginning of each school year, an adult will need to bring the medicine along with the completed Form 1702 to the Main Office at school. We cannot give medicine to your child without this form. All medication needs to be clearly labeled with the pharmacy label attached to the medicine. Any medication without a pharmacy label will not be accepted. If there is no medication on hand in the event of an emergency, we will call 911.
At the end of the school year, an adult will need to come into the Main Office and sign-out the medication. No medication will remain at the school between school years. Any medication not picked up at the end of the school year will be disposed of following WCPSS Medication Disposal Process.

Guidelines for Staying Home When Sick:
The best thing you can do is keep your children home when sick. This will help stop the spread of illness to other children and teachers. Keep them home when they show any of these symptoms:
- fever of 100 degrees F or higher
- vomiting, nausea and/or diarrhea
- headache and chills
- red, watery eyes with yellow drainage
- sore throat
- lack of appetite
- fatigue
REMINDERS:
- Children should stay home until they have been naturally without fever for at least 24 hours
- Please do not give children fever-reducing medication and then send them to school

Lice Information
Once we are notified that a student has an identified case of head lice, we will follow WCPSS protocol for sending out information to parents. The student's homeroom teacher will send out a notification letter from the principal and an information sheet for parents. If live lice is found during school hours, the school will contact the parent to pick up the child early and begin their hair treatment plan.
Please refer to WCPSS Head Lice page for more detailed information and further Student Health guidelines.
