I am originally from New York where my family lived and worked at a residential school and summer camp for children with disabilities. Growing up in this environment had a profound impact on who I am and how I teach. I attended New York University where I earned a Bachelor’s degree in Childhood and Special Education (which is just a fancy way to say that I am licensed to teach both special education and general education). I taught special education in New York City for one year before moving to Buenos Aires, Argentina where I taught for three years at an international school. I earned my Master’s degree through Kaplan University while living abroad. I have three teenage sons: Chad, Craig and Christian. Craig is still at home and is in 8th grade at Leesville Middle. At home, I also have two boxers named Walter and Fern and lots of chickens.

Hello all! I grew up in New Hampshire where I spent my time riding horses, skiing, and spending time outside in the mountains and lakes. I graduated from the University of New Hampshire then spent a few years living in San Diego, Ca. I relocated to Pennsylvania where I met my now husband. We traveled back to my hometown in the Mount Washington Valley, NH, where we had our 2 daughters. Done with cold weather, we landed here in North Carolina in 2014 and have called it home ever since. After years of experience in retail management, children's mental health case management, and medical scheduling/reception, In 2018 I began working in special education services as an instructional assistant and fell in love. I currently spend a lot of my time watching my own daughters play soccer. When we have a free Friday night, we can be found watching my husband's football games.
